The Design

“Feather-light, beautifully bright!”

We love how the shaded blocks of color develop as we knit the Color Play Scarf. Watching two tones meld together to create something new is so satisfying! For this scarf, we mixed four solids—two at a time—in four blocks of marled color. Try mixing tonal colors for ombré shading or cross the color wheel for graphic punch!

We created a free adaptation to our original pattern to knit this Color Play Scarf In Lang . It’s as light as a feather, soft as a cloud! A blend of superfine alpaca, fine merino, and nylon, this lace-weight yarn is brushed fluffy for a gentle, mohair-like halo—only without the mohair! In Alpaca Superlight, this colorful scarf is perfect for knitters who find mohair a little too ticklish, but would still like a bit of fuzz.
